Cstitch Review
I tried cstitch a free cross stitch pattern maker. Although this programme has very few good reviews I decided to give it a go and its not half as bad as I thought it would be and really suited my needs for creating cross stitch patterns from photos and pixel art I have made. So although you cannot create a pattern directly on there (sometimes making you feel like you have to do it twice) it isn't half as bad as the reviews say and it really suited my needs as I said previously.
It has a difficult interface which is very hard to get used to. First you upload your image then you choose the colours and the brand of floss you are going to use. Then you have to choose the size which generally speaking when using pixel art needs to be the size the canvas was so in my case 32x32. Then you review it all and see if you like it if you want to change the symbols for each colour and general last minute touches like that. Then you can download your pdf pattern.
Because the pattern is made from an image the process is fast and takes no more than half an hour even less when you have mastered the interface and no longer have to press on the help button every five minutes.
Here is a pattern I made on cstitch (feel free to make it yourself and if you do make sure you show me the results!) :

Hi there ! I just started using this program for my designs but I am so confused on the sizing . Id like my design to fit a 6inch hoop but I feel like no matter how much I play around with sizing my pattern is going to come out so large :(
ReplyDeleteYes it does seem like that and when you go small it goes all blurry. Do you want me to have a try for you?
